In 1982, Honda released a very interesting motorcycle CBX 650 to the domestic market ,which had the official name — Honda CBX 650 Custom. Since 1983, the model has been exported to Europe and the United States. The European model was called-Honda CBX 650E, and the American-Honda CB650 Nighthawk.
All modifications had a similar appearance and technical characteristics — with the exception of some visual, technical and mass-dimensional parameters.
In particular, the European versions were equipped with an enlarged fuel tank (16.5 liters versus 13 liters) and had a higher mass. The changes also concerned the engine settings —
The Japanese versions produced less power, relative to the full-strength European ones.
The Honda CBX650 was based on an in-line 4-stroke ,4-cylinder air-cooled engine with a volume of 656 cm3, with 4 valves per cylinder and hydraulic compensators for valve
clearances.The Japanese version of the Honda CBX650 Custom produced 70 hp of maximum power at 9500 rpm,the American version of the Honda CB650 Nighthawk produced 73 hp.,
well, the most powerful European version of the Honda CBX650E produced 75 hp. The maximum torque of all versions is the same 58.0 Nm.
