Model dregster Yamaha V-max 1700 was presented as a concept in 2005 at the Tokyo Motor Show, and went into production in June 2008.
The model is a continuation of the V-max series and is a follower of the Yamaha V-max 1200. Immediately it should be noted that the official name of the Yamaha V-max 1700 sounds
as Yamaha VMAX, without specifying the engine volume and other letter designations. Currently the bike is in the class «Sport Heritage», according to the classification of the Yamaha,
and it is adjacent to such models as Yamaha XV950 Bolt, Yamaha XSR700, Yamaha XSR900 and Yamaha SR400.
The main feature of the Yamaha V-max 1700 is a 4-cylinder V-shaped (65Β°) liquid-cooled engine with a volume of 1679 CC., issuing 200 HP of power and 167 Nm of torque
moment’s. The maximum performance of the motor is achieved at 6500-9000 rpm. Unlike the past V-max, the new is equipped with YCC-T (electronically controlled throttle
flaps) and YCC-I (adjustable inlet length). The latter is designed to provide the effect of V-boost by reducing the length of the inlet channel by 6650 rpm and thereby creating a tangible
pick-up, as on Yamaha V-max 1200 with V-boost system. Yamaha’s YCC-I system was first used on the 2006 Yamaha YZF-R1 sports model. And the first motorcycle,
the MV Agusta F4 Tamburini was the one that used the variable intake system. On Agusta such a system was called — Torque Shift System (TSS).
