The film’s main character is monk Iov (Job) who once dreamt to become a cosmonaut and even applied for a military pilot academy. Presently together with his spiritual disciples he flies into weightlessness, takes part in Cosmonauts Training Centre’s activities, sees the crews off in Baikonur and solemnly meets them with chimes of the church recently built in the Star City. Furthermore, a cenobite of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra Hegumen Iov (Job) collects materials for his book on the history of Soviet and Russian cosmonautics from the Orthodox point of view. He is convinced that the story of space exploration was written by baptised people — cosmonauts, constructors, engineers whom our new film Space as Obedience dwells on.
Premier released on the 10th of November 2010 on TV channel Kultura.
